BEML Bags $23-Million Orders for Construction Equipment from Cameroon, Bangladesh
Defence public sector undertaking BEML Limited has bagged export orders from central African nation Cameroon and neighbour Bangladesh under Lines of Credit extended by the Indian government to buy construction equipment.
BEML Limited is a ‘Schedule A’ company under India’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the process of disinvestment in the company has already begun by the Narendra Modi government in Jan. 2020.
Cameroon’s Ministry of Economy, Planning and Regional Development (MOEPRD) has placed the order for the supply of 71 units of construction equipment consisting of Bulldozers, Excavators, Wheel Loaders, Motor graders and Compactors for their Cassava Farm Project.
Bangladesh’s Ministry of Roads and Highways Department has ordered for construction equipment consisting of Wheel Dozer for their construction, repair and maintenance of road and infrastructure projects in the South Asian neighbour.
Valued at around $23 million, these equipment will be having more than 90 per cent indigenous content and will be manufactured at BEML’s Kolar Gold Fields and Mysore plants in Karnataka, signifying the true spirit of ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat‘ with thrust on going global, a BEML Limited’s statement said.
