Delhi Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan

India hosted the Third Regional Security Dialogue on Afghanistan on 10 November. NSAs from Iran, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan participated. China and Pakistan chose not to participate. There was no Taliban representative but that was because no-one had been invited. The study provides a brief on statement by respective NSAs; analyses the Delhi Declaration; India’s strong messages including not abandoning the Afghan game; areas of convergence and differences; lessons / gains for India and what it needs to do. The study also presents a pre-conference analyses - its objective which is against radicalisation and terror, not Taliban; India’s overriding concerns and opportunities etc.
